Art & Music Department

In Art classes grade 5’s have been studying both simulated and real 3D forms. For simulated they cut part of a magazine away and make the missing part appear 3D with tonal rendering. For actual 3D forms we have been drawing net stencils and making up polyhedrons.

Grade 6’s have been making sketchbook mosaics and are now learning about colour schemes for interior design. One of those colour schemes are analogous colours which relate because they are neighbours on the colour wheel.

For music grade 5 and 6’s have been studying the 5 notes of the pentatonic scale. I’ve been getting them to improvise this scale over any piece of music that they like and have chosen. The aim is for them to even improvise singing notes over any song that they like. This allows them to create melodies for themselves.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday everyone. Be wary of the traffic when crossing the road, wear sunscreen to protect your skin and swim between the flags if you go to the beach.

RELIGION AND VALUES

Safiye Yargi

Assalamu Alaikum parents and students,

As we approach the end of yet another year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, students and parents at Sirius College Ibrahim Dellal Campus. This has been a wonderful year for me. My students have taught me nearly as much as I have taught them, and I have had an amazing time getting to know them and helping them grow.

Unfortunately, I will be moving on with my career to take on another job.

Please know that your children have been a joy to teach and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Safiye
